Rhodiola for Weight Loss

07/25/03

Supplement Rhosavin100™ is Pure Rhodiola rosea

Description
Rhosavin100™ is the trademarked name for Rhodiola rosea and comprises several species of plants in the Crassulacea family – and is generally found in the arctic mountain regions of Siberia. The root of the plant is used medicinally and is also known as "Golden root" and more recently as “Crenulin”. Rhodiola has been used for hundreds of years to treat cold and flu-like symptoms, promote longevity and increase the body’s resistance to physical and mental stresses.

EFFECTS
  • Promotes weight loss
  • Aphrodisiac
  • Relieves stress
  • Enhances athletic performance
  • Tonic for well-being
  • Immune enhancer
  • Improves cognitive function
  • Anti-depressant
  • Rhosavin100™ is considered to be an “adaptogen” and has been shown to invigorate the body and mind to increase resistance to a multitude of stresses. The key, active, natural constituents in Rhosavin100™ are identified as rosavin, rosarin, rosin and salidroside.

    Rhosavin100™ and MOOD
In an open clinical trial of Rhodiola rosea’s ability to alleviate symptoms of depression, 128 patients were given Rhodiola rosea. The Rhodiola rosea was effective in reducing or removing symptoms of depression in 65% of the patients. In another study of 35 men suffering from weak erection, premature ejaculation, or both were treated with 100-150mg Rhodiola rosea, in an open clinical trial that lasted for three months. 26 of the 35 patients recognized a substantial improvement in sexual function as a result of the treatment.

    Rhodiola rosea and WEIGHT LOSS
If there is such a thing as a perfect weight loss/stress relieving herb, this could be it. Rhosavin100™ contains the two essential elements needed by most people to lose weight and truly feel great, naturally. Not only does this Russian herb, have the ability to lift the stress that causes your body to crave foods of comfort and store more fat, it also has the power to make you lose weight. In a placebo controlled study of Rhodiola rosea’s ability to mobilize fatty acids from adipose tissue, 121 subjects were given either Rhodiola rosea or a placebo and their serum lipid levels were tested at rest and after one hour of exercise. The Rhodiola group had 6% greater serum fatty acid levels than the placebo group at rest and 44% greater levels after one hour of exercise. This difference is due to Rhodiola rosea’s ability to activate adipose lipase, a key enzyme required to burn the body’s fat stores

Clinically proven to fight obesity & depression.
In a study of 128 individuals of all ages with various forms of depression who were given Rhodiola rosea, all test subjects showed positive therapeutic effects. And, 65% had complete disappearance of their depression. Studies show Rhodiola rosea works by making serotonin's precursors, tryptophan and 5-HTP, more available to the brain and by increasing the amount of serotonin in the brain. In a separate placebo controlled study involving 130 overweight patients over 90 days at the Georgian State Hospital (in the former Soviet Union), of those who consumed rhodiola rosea, 92% lost a remarkable average of 20 pounds while a placebo group on the same diet lost just 7 pounds. This difference is presumably due to Rhosavin 100™’s ability to activate adipose lipase, a key enzyme required to burn the body’s fat stores. Other benefits of this amazing herb include its ability to:

Reverse emotional stress characterized by sluggishness, low motivation, muscle weakness, chronic fatigue, labored breathing, giddiness, chest pain, palpitations, excessive sleeping and brain cloud.

Increase body's ability to handle stresses of all kinds; partly by calming the sympathetic (fight or flight) nervous system and relaxing the parasympathetic system. Subjects given the chief ingredient in Rhosavin100™ showed increased levels of beta-endorphin (the stress relieving, feel-good, analgesic peptide) in the brain.

    Rhodiola rosea and MEMORY
A placebo-controlled study of Rhodiola rosea's effects on intellectual performance employed 120 subjects who took a proofreading test. Test subjects took the test both before and after administration of the Rhodiola rosea or placebo. The test group experienced significant improvement in their scores while the control group did not. Members of each group were continually tested for their ability to perform on the proofreading test for 24 hours after administration of the extract or placebo. The control group experienced a large increase in the number of errors made in the proofreading test while the group receiving Rhodiola rosea experienced performance decline to a much lesser extent.

    Safety
Rhodiola rosea is quite safe. There are no known contraindications or interactions with other drugs/herbs.

    Dosage
General dosage recommendations for standardized Rhodiola rosea, with 3.4 % bioactive ingredients, are typically in the range of 100-300mg/day. Higher doses and bioactive percentages have been shown to have a sedative effect. Rhosavin100™ is pure Rhodiola rosea in Veggie Caps™ (no animal protein), 100mg. each. Most users find that 1-3 capsules a day gives the desired effects.
